“So nights out, we all know that is a big hobby of mine, it is no secret,” Kyrgios said on his No Boundaries podcast, before detailing his favourite party towns.“Honestly, when I think of New York I get scared because I can’t walk for three days after I go out.”Asked how many alcohol shots he would down on night out Kyrgios said “15 to 17.”“I just love it, like I just love it. I genuinely have a passion for it, like I love sinking them. They make me feel so good,” he Kyrgios said.“I’d say on an average night I’ve probably taken 15 to 17 shots.“I mean look, I probably do drink a bit too much but I just love sending them with the boys.”Kyrgios, who is set to play in the Australian Open and is dating blogger Costeen Hatzi, said balancing his love of a big night with his sport was “very tough.”“Towards the end of my career, like when I won Acapulco (in 2019), bro, if I had a Go-Pro on, I was crowd surfing in Acapulco. I was there just drinking champagne, my eyes, I could not even see straight, I had like three cigars in my mouth and it was monumental,” he said.“It is hard to balance it.“When you are doing well at these events all the time you want to build on it so going out is not even an option. “There are times when I just want to enjoy myself, I have had a good week, I am not talking blow out, I am not talking like legless, but I’d have like 10 beers or something and that’s it.”Kyrgios said his plan to limit his travel on the tennis circuit would stop him from being a top ranked player.“I just don’t want to travel as well anymore. I won’t ever be travelling enough to be at the top anymore,” he said.He said the long months on the tennis tour away from his friends and family and the stress it put on his relationships had caused him to lose his “marbles” at one point in his career.“Dude, this s–t turns you f—ing mental, man. It has f—ed with my brain,” he said.“Everyone you meet that doesn’t have the opportunity to travel is always like ‘f—, I just want to go travel’. “I am incredibly blessed, but they are like, ‘Man I want to travel and travel’ and all I want to do is be home. “I just want to be in my f—ing house in Canberra and just on the couch, unbothered, with an oat latte watching the league. Australia is the best place to be.”
