In a slight shift in genre, it’s been revealed The Voice Australia coach Keith Urban has stepped in to cover some of the nights originally sold for Adele as part of her cancelled three-month residency.Caesars Palace has announced Urban will take the Colosseum stage on a sprinkling of dates Adele fans had bought tickets costing up to $17,000 for, given the country star was set to perform at the Las Vegas theatre in May after Adele’s run wrapped, Variety reports. His additional dates are March 25, 26 and 30 and April 1 and 2, 2022.Prior to booking the new dates for Urban, Caesars Palace did not have any other concerts on the calendar until Rod Stewart on May 13, apart from one long-scheduled three-nighter for Van Morrison beginning February 18 that Adele had planned to work around.Adele announced on Instagram last Thursday that she was postponing her hotly anticipated residency only 24 hours before the first show, weeping as she told fans: “My show ain’t ready.”The 33-year-old went on to claim that Covid-19 cases within her production team and supply-chain issues had contributed to the decision.“We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid,” the singer explained through tears. “We’ve been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time. I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to everyone that’s travelled.”However, recent reports suggest Adele’s reasons for nixing the run the day before had more to do with her dissatisfaction with the show, particularly the production design by Esmeralda Devlin.According to The Sun, Adele was furious about the design of a swimming pool she was supposed to stand in while belting out her hits, likening it to an “old pond” when it was unveiled.Today, it’s been further reported Adele was struggling through rehearsals because she was “constantly on the phone” with her sports agent boyfriend of six months Rich Paul, “shouting and sobbing”.Scott Roeben, the Las Vegas-based journalist for Casino.org who broke the news of the Adele’s residency, told Page Six that Vegas insiders are now worried that Adele will cancel the concerts for good due to the whispers of trouble in her relationship.
