A popular European camper van rental platform has announced a massive US expansion plan.
Indie Campers is now operating in US cities like Los Angeles, Denver, Orlando, and Las Vegas.
The US will be the company’s primary market by 2023.
Renting a tiny home on wheels for road trips across the US just became much easier.
A wildly popular European camper van rental company has unveiled a massive US expansion plan with the goal of making the states its primary market by 2023, the company announced on Tuesday.
Indie Campers currently operates in over 40 European cities, from Paris to Lisbon to Reykjavik.
And after eight years in Europe, in October 2021, the company announced plans to enter the US market with a Los Angeles outpost.
Since this fall US launch, the Southern California location has seen almost 2,000 booked nights, a testament to the country’s growing interest in life on the road.
Now, to continue this stateside momentum, Indie Campers has announced it’ll be operating in an additional seven US markets: Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, Orlando, Phoenix, Houston, and San Francisco.
This announcement also includes plans for a 2,000% growth in the company’s US camper van fleet.
Indie Campers currently operates three van models in the US: a Winnebago Solis, a four-by-four Jeep Wrangler with a rooftop tent, and a Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo.
These models all sleep between two to four people and include the RVing basics like a bed, kitchen, and a shower, although the latter isn’t available on the Marco Polo.
And these builds have already been catching the eyes of road travel enthusiasts. Indie Campers has been seeing a “substantial share of domestic searches” in the US as it continues to target the country as its primary market.
