Google brought a plethora of new features with the launch of the Google Pixel 6 series. One of the great additions is the new Battery Share feature that allows users to charge another phone or any compatible accessory. However, the Battery Share feature is not enabled by default and you have to dig into the Settings to make use of it. If you are not familiar, we will teach you how to enable and use the Battery Share feature on your new Google Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro.
Enable and Use Battery Share Feature on Your Google Pixel 6 Series and Wirelessly Charge Another Compatible Phone or Accessory
The new Battery Share addition is Google’s take on the reverse wireless charging feature available on almost all major flagship smartphones. You can charge other phones as well as your Pixel Buds. One important thing to note here is that Battery Share will take up quite a bit of battery life from your Pixel 6. Nonetheless, it is a pretty neat feature to have and finally, Google made it available with the Google Pixel 6. This is how you can enable and use the Battery Share feature on your Google Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro.
Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is open the Settings app on your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro.
Step 2: Scroll down and select the Battery option.
Step 3: Now tap on Battery Share.
Step 4: Simply toggle on Allow Battery Share option.
This is all that you have to do to enable Battery Share on your new Google Pixel 6 phone. You also have the option to enable Battery Share through Quick Settings. Simply pull down the Notification share twice and then swipe to the second page of the Quick Settings. You will see the Battery Share option on the bottom right side. This will redirect you to the Battery Share options.
To use the Battery Share feature, all you have to do is put your Google Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro upside down and then place another phone or a compatible accessory on the back. You will have to adjust and align the position of the smartphone or the accessory to begin wireless charging. When you see your accessory or smartphone charging, simply leave it like that for a while. Your accessory or another smartphone will be charged. As mentioned earlier, Battery Share takes power from the device itself and transfers it to another device so the battery of Pixel 6 might take a hit.
