SAVE $70: If you’re in the market for a new pair of wireless on-ear headphones, the Beats Solo3 are a solid pair. Plus, they’re on sale at Amazon as of April 25 for $129.95, which is 35% off their regular price of $199.95.
Whether or not the AirPods Max deserve their hype, we’re agreed that $549 is pretty steep for a pair of headphones, right? Well, for 20% of that price, you can get a pair of Beats Solo3 Headphones instead. Obviously, they’re not as fancy, but they still have that Apple design and sound quality, and you can’t (or are very statistically unlikely to) go wrong with 40,000 user reviews on Amazon that average 4.7/5 stars.
The Beats Solo3 Headphones aren’t the newest of their line — that award goes to the Solo Pro, which came out in 2018, two years after the Solo3’s debut. Still, the Solo3s got an external update in 2019, and since then, Beats hasn’t really upgraded their line of headphones, which while disappointing, is also testament to how good their existing products are.
This particular pair features the Apple W1 chip, is compatible with iOS and Android, and boasts a staggering 40 hours of battery life, which means you can forget your charger and still be fine for a whole week. (Plus, Fast Fuel tech means that just 5 minutes of charging provides enough juice for 3 hours of playback when battery is low, so you don’t have to wait to listen to your tunes.) You can accept/reject calls, play/pause/skip your music, and summon Siri with its on-ear controls. And, most importantly of all, the audio quality is *chef’s kiss*.
While those who want a thumping bass to rupture their eardrums might be disappointed, this design prioritizes all-around acoustics that “maximize clarity, breadth, and balance.” Spatial Audio is also supported, which brings you closer to that feeling of listening to live music (that we’ve all missed since the pandemic started).
