There is no doubt rival networks will be keen to sound him out with new opportunities and that leads to the question of whether his long-term future be at the ABC or elsewhere. He is a valuable talent and has momentum at the moment – his brand is very much on the rise.Armstrong addressed the overhyped rumour that he had been in the running to be The Bachelor this year, revealing he had never been asked or had a discussion about the reality TV role.“They (Channel 10/Bachelor producers) might have got onto my management but it never got to me,” he said.“I get anxiety just walking down here (the Logies red carpet) so I can’t imagine dating on TV.“It was weird, I was going on holidays to Europe and I said on the Friday on News Breakfast that I was taking three weeks off and I had no idea, but that was when The Bachelor was starting filming.“So I landed in London and my phone could have powered a small country town. It went off, beeping with messages when I turned it on.“It was insinuated that I was taking that time off to do The Bachelor. I wasn’t but my phone went off.”‘Roaming Brian’ bewildered roaming the red carpetIt would have been interesting had ‘Roaming Brian’ been let loose at the Logies after-party.More used to the Brownlow Medal night, Brian Taylor walked the Logies red carpet on Sunday looking a bit bewildered and amused as he navigated soapy starlets, voluminous feathered trains, gaggles of reality stars and even an ex-Spice Girl as he made his way into the event.“It is bizarre, chaotic, it seems it is a bit looser than what the Brownlow is,” Taylor noted as a Ninja Warrior contestant did a handstand nearby on a fellow contestant’s torso.“This is my first time at the Logies so it is a bit of a learning process.“The professionals get close to the cameras, we are as far away as we can possibly be.”Taylor was given a shout out on the night by Best New Talent winner Tony Armstrong.Taylor has been a friend and mentor to Armstrong in recent years and helped the ex-AFL player get his start calling footy.Taylor not only helped him develop his broadcast skills he also introduced him to various people, which led to an opportunity on Triple M.Andy Lee’s ‘Amber Heard’ defenceAndy Lee’s partner Rebecca Harding has blamed the couple’s dog doing “an Amber Heard” as the reason why the couple almost missed making it to the Logie Awards.Harding travelled from Melbourne to the Gold Coast with a packet of frozen peas wrapped around her right elbow after she took a serious tumble in her bathroom as she prepared to leave for the airport on Friday. She walked the Logies red carpet alongside Lee, sporting a savagely bruised and swollen elbow.“Henrietta, our dog, she always plays up when we leave. As soon as we start packing bags she gets a bit antsy, so she decided to poo on our bed like Amber Heard,” Lee explained.“She did an Amber Heard, yes,” Harding said.“So I ran into the bathroom to grab something to clean it up and slipped over. It was not good.”Grabbing the peas from the freezer, the couple dashed for their flight with Harding looking far from comfortable on the trip to the Gold Coast.Early bird gets the Logie nodNothing like getting in early. The ambitious campaign to get new Masked Singer celebrity panellist Abbie Chatfield nominated for a Gold Logie in 2023 kicked off at the 2022 Logies on Sunday night.Rohan Edwards, from Chatfield’s Hot Nights radio show, was the fledging campaign’s flag-bearer, sporting a fetching “Abbie for Gold” T-shirt.As recent Logies history has shown, campaigning works, so look out for Chatfield in next year’s awards race.At the very least she should get a run in the Best New Talent category.Neighbours star clean sweep at the LogiesNeighbours star April Rose Pengilly had the most unusual accessory at Sunday’s Logie Awards – a vacuum cleaner.Wearing an enormous feathered gown by Melbourne designer Alin Le’Kal, Pengilly arrived on the red carpet early to film fashion segments for various outlets on the night. Her gown however shed fluffy pink feathers everywhere, leading to organisers to break out the dust buster to clean up the carpet before the rest of the celebrity horde arrived.Pengilly, who had to travel to the red carpet in her own gold buggy due to to the size of her gown and its enormous train of fronds, wisely had a second, sleek, beaded gown to do a quick change into once she got inside the Logies venue. Is this Australia’s next big star? Put this down as a name to watch – Zipporah Corser.Zipporah, 19, is the daughter of Doctor Doctor star Rodger Corser and his ex-wife, singer and stage star, Christine Anu.Zipporah joined her father at the Logies, were she was the Logie hostess who brought the awards on stage during the ceremony for each presenter to hand to the winners.Zipporah has clearly inherited a love for performing from her parents. The talented singer was very much at home on the Logies stage and red carpet on Sunday.
