Instagram Now Lets You Delete Your Account Permanently With a 30-Day Delay In Case You Change Your Mind
Previously, Apple notified developers that applications that offer account creation must offer an account deletion option starting June 30, 2022. It seems Instagram took its sweet time and brought the feature to users on the very last day. Apple’s guidelines also suggest that developers must make it easier for users to find the account deletion options. In addition, the company also emphasized that it is insufficient for an app to offer temporary deactivation of an account. The account must be deleted along with all personal details of the user.
According to TechCrunch, users previously had to log into a web browser to delete their accounts. Instagram did provide an account deactivation option in its iOS app but Apple wants developers to embed permanent account deletion. While the option to delete your Instagram account is available, you will still be given a 30-day time period in which you can reactivate your account if you change your mind.
How to Delete Your Instagram Account

Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is launch the Instagram app on your iPhone and head over to your Account Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Account and then select Delete Account.
Step 3: You will be presented with two options: Deactivate or Delete.
Step 4: Tap on Delete and you are all done.
