Frederick’s wife Lili Cadee-Matthews gave birth to Florence Elton Frederick on Tuesday.“Our tiny dancer made her way into the world on the 9th of August 2022 at 3.06am,” Frederick wrote on social media.“Mum and baby are doing really well.“We can’t wait to watch you take on the world Florence Elton Frederick.”Frederick, who plays for Collingwood in the AFLW, wed Cadee-Matthews in December last year.The couple announced in January they were expecting their first child.“I am so excited to announce Lil and I will be welcoming our first little bundle of joy to our family late July (or when she is ready),” Frederick told her Instagram followers.“The Frederick family is growing and we couldn’t be more grateful. Can’t wait to hold our tiny dancer in our arms.”Frederick and her wife have described their baby as their “tiny dancer” since they fell pregnant so perhaps it is no surprise that Florence has Elton as her middle name – possibly a tribute to superstar Elton John who created the epic song Tiny Dancer.Frederick has paid tribute to Cadee-Matthews via social media through her pregnancy, writing in June: “35 weeks and we can’t be more excited. I have been in such awe throughout this journey watching my wife take it all in her stride handling the ups and the downs like a boss.”In July she posted: “Didn’t think I could love you more than I did 9 month ago … well, I was wrong.”Frederick won a new legion of fans when she took part in the first season of SAS: Australia in 2020.She was the only woman to complete the gruelling course.
