“F–k you, Dr Fauci,” the former Fox News prime time star said during her most recent broadcast of The Megyn Kelly Show podcast.Kelly took umbrage at comments by Dr Fauci indicating that he “certainly would consider” appearing before politicians if he is served with a subpoena, the New York Post reported.The Republican Party is expected to retake the majority in the House after midterm elections in November. Should that happen, GOP politicians have vowed they will demand Dr Fauci appear to testify over his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.Dr Fauci, 81, plans to retire in December as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases after nearly four decades.During her opening monologue of the podcast, Kelly said: “He sounds like he’s been invited to afternoon tea at one of our houses.“‘I will consider it. I’ll consider it,’” Kelly said, mockingly paraphrasing Dr Fauci. She then continued: “‘Only if it’s oversight because what I experienced was personal attacks.’”Kelly then broke character and said: “F–k you, Dr Fauci!”“You don’t get to say whether you go,” she continued. “You get a congressional subpoena, you show up, or you get the Steve Bannon treatment.”Bannon, a former White House aide to then-president Donald Trump, was convicted last month of two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to appear before the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, riots at the US Capitol.He faces a maximum sentence of two years in jail.
