Fox’s Doocy Confronts Biden’s Press Secretary Jean-Pierre About Her Own ‘Stolen’ Election Claims – Was It Extreme Then?

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy confronted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over her past claims of stolen elections, wondering if those statements were examples of ‘extreme semi-fascism,’ as has been hinted at by Jean-Pierre’s boss, President Biden.

The exchange came during Tuesday’s press briefing with Jean-Pierre and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

“So if we’re all in agreement that it is incorrect to say the 2020 election was stolen, what about the 2016 election?” Doocy challenged.

“Look, I’m not going to go back to where we were or what happened in 2016. We’re going to focus on the here and now. We’re going to focus on what’s happening today,” replied Jean-Pierre, while going back two years to 2020 instead of focusing on today.

President Biden has been vilifying former President Donald Trump and “some” of his supporters as veritable enemies of the state in multiple public statements, based partly on unproven stolen election claims from 2020.

Karine Jean-Pierre Confronted on Stolen Election Claims

Peter Doocy, oftentimes the only reporter in the press briefing room willing to challenge the White House, didn’t let up on the matter with Karine Jean-Pierre’s so-called ‘extreme’ rhetoric.

“You tweeted in 2016 that Trump stole an election,” Doocy said.

“Oh, I knew this was coming,” Jean-Pierre interjected. “I was waiting, Peter, for when you were going to ask me that question.”

If she was indeed prepared, it wasn’t obvious by any means, as she offered up a truly absurd response.

“Well, here we go,” Doocy prepared. “You tweeted Trump stole an election. You tweeted Brian Kemp stole an election. If denying election results is extreme now, why wasn’t it then?”

“Let’s be really clear,” Jean-Pierre replied. “That comparison you just made is ridiculous.”

And why was it ridiculous? Because her complaints allegedly surrounded ‘voting rights.’

It’s Only Extreme If One Party Does It

Doocy is correct – White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has claimed the 2018 gubernatorial election in Georgia and the 2016 presidential election were ‘stolen.’

“Reminder: Brian Kemp stole the gubernatorial election from Georgians and Stacey Abrams,” she fired off in a tweet in April of 2020.

The press secretary’s Extreme View was in response to a story about Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s efforts to battle the pandemic at the time.

The White House’s chief propagandist, in another tweet from December of 2016, claimed Hillary Clinton’s emails were “stolen,” as was the presidential election.

“Stolen emails, stolen drone, stolen election … welcome to the world of #unpresidented Trump,” she wrote.

Neither of those tweets mentioned ‘voting rights.’

Jean-Pierre fired back at Doocy: “I have said Governor Kemp won the election in Georgia. I’ve been clear about that. I have said President Trump won the election of 2016. And I’ve been clear about that.”

“What we are talking about right now is — let’s not forget what happened on January 6th, 2021, when we saw an insurrection — a mob that was incited by the person who occupied this campus, this facility at that time,” she continued.

“And it was an attack on our democracy.”

She’s asked directly if she thinks the 2016 election was stolen and dodges. This feels like a threat to democracy. A big lie, if you will. https://t.co/AF5e5EyoOs

Last week, President Biden assailed Trump and his supporters by repeatedly referring to “MAGA Republicans” in a speech about the ‘soul of the nation’ as extremists and a “threat to this country.”

“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people,” said Biden. “They refuse to accept the results of a free election.”

“And they’re working right now, as I speak, in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself,” he added.

“Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” President Biden says. pic.twitter.com/J8De3JKJgr

Seems like Karine Jean-Pierre did the same exact thing – undermined democracy itself – with her comments in 2016 and 2018. It’s ridiculous to pretend otherwise, though we know that’s what will happen.
