There have been numerous times when we have sent accidentally sent the message to the wrong person. Moreover, sometimes the purpose of the message is not entirely clear and you want to make changes to it. Before iOS 16, iPhone and iPad users had to clarify their intent or send another supporting message in case of a mishap. Now, Apple is bestowing iPhone users with new abilities that will put their minds at ease. If you are unfamiliar, we will teach you how to Edit and Delete messages in iOS 16. How to Edit Messages on iPhone Running iOS 16
Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is launch the Messages app that contains the chat with the message that you want to edit.
Step 2: Tap and hold the message that you want to Edit and a pop-over menu would appear.
Step 3: Tap on the Edit button from the menu and make the required changes to the message.
Step 4: Once you do that, tap on the Blue tick on the right to confirm the changes. This is all that you have to do if you want to edit the message in iOS 16.
How to Delete Messages on iPhone Running iOS 16
Step 1: To delete the message, launch the Messages app and open the chat thread with the message that you want to delete.
Step 2: Tap and hold the message and a pop-over menu would appear.
Step 3: Select the Undo Send option.
Step 4: The message will disappear and will be replaced by a message that would read: “You unsent a message.” This is all that you have to do to delete a message in iOS 16.
Note: If you do not see the Edit button, the message was sent over 15 minutes ago and cannot be edited. Moreover, if you do not see the Undo Send option, the message was sent over 2 minutes ago and can not be deleted.
