DEVELOPING: ‘Active and Dangerous’ Shooting at Dearborn, Michigan Hotel – One Confirmed Dead

An ‘active and dangerous’ shooting at a Hampton Inn in Dearborn, Michigan unfolded Thursday afternoon.

“There is a current active shooting scene at the Hampton Inn, 22324 Michigan Ave in Dearborn. This situation is active and dangerous. Stay away from the scene.” Michigan State Police said on Thursday.

One person is confirmed dead, according to Fox 2 News.

As of 1:00 pm Central, the suspect was still firing shots.

Police are responding to what’s being called an “active shooting scene” at a hotel in Dearborn on Thursday afternoon.

Dearborn police said they were engaged in a situation at the Hampton Inn hotel at Michigan Avenue and near Military Street. Police said the shooter was not in custody but is “contained,” and said there was at least one victim.

Michigan State Police called it “an active shooting scene,” and added, “this situation is active and dangerous. Stay away from the scene.” Dearborn police also urged people to avoid the area until further notice.
