October happens to be my favorite month of the year, so while I’m certainly mourning its departure, I’m also reminiscing about all of the great fashion items I came across this fall. Retailers were very busy stocking the new arrivals sections in October, let me tell ya. This month, I’ve had my eye on festive clothes (to avoid the last-minute holiday-party shopping scramble), outerwear, sweaters, and boots of every style, to name a few.
October’s roundup of the coolest things I’ve seen this month is pared down to just 15 special finds that I can’t stop thinking about. Among them are epic pieces from TK, TK, and TK, to name a few. So if you want to get in a little more shopping before the month is over, read on to find out what someone who shops all day for work (me) would buy. And if you’re just browsing, sorry to tempt you. See you next month for an early-winter-themed November recap!
Prada’s latest re-invention of an early-2000s handbag style is the Moon Bag. It comes right in time, as bags with moto details, such as oversized silver grommets and buckles, are heavily trending as of late. The new Moon Bag is a compact, structured style still fits all the essentials and more. And for all the crossbody lovers out there, it comes with a detachable long strap for hands-free fun.
J.Crew really nailed it with this modern take on the classic puffer jacket. The cropped silhouette, high neck, and gold buttons combine to create an elevated look that can easily be dressed up. It also comes in black, orange, and green—good luck choosing.
In case you haven’t heard, we created these boots with Sperry and they’re fully stocked at Nordstrom. The boots, which also come in tan, are waterproof, but they don’t look like those boots that scream “I’m a rain boot”. They honestly make me look forward to bad weather.
I’ve been thinking about this cool top ever since I came across it. The pleated fabric makes it look expensive and the crystal ties are just chef’s kiss. It’s one that can easily be dressed up or down, and as you can see, it looks great with jeans.
When this appeared on Reformation’s site earlier this week, I admittedly ordered it immediately.
As far as party dresses go, this is a very chic one (check the train detail, please). Even the sequin-adverse among us might be into it. It also comes in black but I’m pretty enamored with this white and silver number, which I’d be very tempted to pair with metallic silver shoes.
If you want to ensure that you get your hands on these you’re going to have to pre-order them, but I’d consider them worth the wait. The placement of the crystals is unexpected, and the fact that the rest of the shoe is so low-key makes them daytime-appropriate as well.
When people ask me where to find a good leather jacket that doesn’t cost a grand, I always point them toward Mango. This shearling-collared option is both cozy and perfectly oversized. You might want to act fast, though—I’m not the only one that’s clued in about Mango’s epic leather jackets.
Wear the bow dress because you’re a gift. & Other Stories really knows its way around a party dress, and this one is all the proof you need. Just add a pair of black platform sandals and fun earrings and you have yourself a perfect cold-weather special occasion look.
Frankie Shop’s glorious Pernille trousers are here, and they come right in time if you’ve been looking to replace your skinny leather pants. The low waist and pleats make these particularly fresh, and I’m thoroughly impressed by how cool they look with sneakers. I plan on placing an order for all of these reasons and more.
Everyone in fashion is talking about Tory Burch right now, and shoes like these make it easy to see why. (Also, take a scroll through their site—you’re in for a treat.) These heels are like the shoe version of a sweater
Trust me when I tell you that no one will believe you got this from H&M. First of all, it’s made of cashmere and wool. And if you zoom in, you’ll see that the stitching is very well done for a sweater at this price point. Lastly, the slouchy fit is reminiscent of a designer sweater that runs for five times the price of this one.
I’m so delighted when a new reasonably-priced bag (that’s as cool as the ones that are in the thousands) comes out. This Mansur Gavriel shoulder bag is my latest obsession, and it comes in both neutrals and trendy colors. The size of it is perfect for day, night, travel, and literally everything else.
I’m truly shocked that this hasn’t sold out yet—it’s perfect. It’s a faux leather that actually looks like genuine leather, which isn’t often the case. I also love that it has belt loops because belts are BACK, and I’m thrilled. If you’ve been considering joining the maxi skirt club but don’t know where to start, this is a great place.

You can always count on Vince for perfect basics with a twist. This fuzzy sweater has a soft sheen to it, and it’s slim-fitting enough to tuck in. And given that pastels are trending for winter, the mermaid-esque shade is just right.
