Factory Reset Your Android Phone and Prepare for Galaxy S23

The Galaxy S23 series has become one of the hottest Android smartphones this year, and the phones will be going official tomorrow. This means that the preorders will open after the announcement, and everyone will be swarming to get their hands on the brand-new smartphones. However, if you are still using an older Android phone, you might want to factory reset it before handing it over. Whether trading it in or selling it, a factory reset is always a good idea. That’s why we will talk about how to factory reset your Android phone for the Galaxy S23.

There was a time when Android phones used to have a universal method of factory resetting. While that has not changed much ever since, third-party skins have made it difficult in such a way that most of the time, the option to factory reset is behind various menus. In this post, we are going to give you a general overview of how to reset your Android phone.

Upgrading to the Galaxy S23? Factory Reset your Android phone first

Now, the process of factory resetting your Android phone is not really that difficult but we are still going to look at how you can manage to do that. Let’s not waste time and see how you can factory reset your Android phone.

I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra, so the same method will apply to all Samsung phones. But how generic the feature is, you should not have any issues finding it on your device.

Note: It is advised to remove your Google account because resetting it otherwise could trigger Google FRP once it boots back.

Step 1: On your Android phone, head over to Settings.

Step 2: Now, scroll down until you see General management. Tap that.

Step 3: Once there, look for Reset and tap it.

Step 4: From there, tap Reset all settings.

Step 5: It will take you to another page telling you what will be deleted. Simply tap Reset settings and follow the rest of the procedure.

if you are on the Google Pixel or any phone that has near-stock or stock Android, you will find the reset options under System.

Alternatively, you can also use Samsung Smart Switch to transfer your old phone to your new Galaxy S23 before factory resetting the device. That way, all your important data, contacts, and other stuff on your phone will be carried over to the new one.
