Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand on Saturday evening held a briefing after Justin Trudeau ordered a shootdown of an object flying over the Yukon.
The Defense Minister said, “This was the first time that a NORAD operation has down an aerial object.”
“The object was flying at 40,000 feet and had unlawfully entered Canadian airspace and posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight,” she said.

Trudeau said he spoke with Joe Biden on Saturday.
I spoke with President Biden this afternoon. Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object. Thank you to NORAD for keeping the watch over North America.

This comes just one day after the US shot down a ‘high-altitude object’ over Alaska.
Last Saturday the Pentagon shot down a China spy balloon over the Atlantic Ocean after Joe Biden allowed it to traverse over nuclear silos and military installations.
