After releasing iOS 16.4 and other updates to the public, Apple has released beta 1 of its upcoming iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, watchOS 9.5, tvOS 16.5, and macOS 13.4 to developers for testing purposes. Apple has seeded beta 1 of iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, watchOS 9.5, tvOS 16.5, and macOS 13.4 to developers for testing purposes
Apple has released iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5 beta 1 to developers for testing purposes. If you are a registered developer, you can download and install the latest beta builds on your compatible iPhone and iPad right now. With the release of iOS 16.4, Apple has changed the method to download new betas. If you are enrolled in Apple’s beta testing program, you will receive the latest beta update over the air. What this means is that you are no longer required to install a proper configuration profile from the Developer Center. All you have to do is head over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and select Beta Updates.
Unlike iOS 16.5 beta 1, macOS Ventura 13.4 does require a proper configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. You can download the latest beta using the Software Update mechanism in System Settings.
watchOS 9.5 beta 1 also requires a proper configuration profile from the developer center. Once it is installed, head over to the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone and navigate to General > Software Update. Make sure that your Apple Watch has over 50 percent of battery life and is plugged into a power source. Additionally, keep your Apple Watch close to the iPhone as it needs to send and receive data for the update to take place.
Lastly, tvOS 16.5 beta 1 can be installed on your compatible Apple TV devices using a profile that is installed through code. tvOS updates normally focus on stability and under-the-hood changes. As for the rest, it is too early to ask what Apple has included in the latest beta builds. Nonetheless, we will update you guys as soon as developers are done tinkering with the latest build.
