Resident Evil 4 Remake features plenty of challenges that will reward you with CP (Completion Points), which can then be spent in the Extra Content Shop. One of these tasks, which is also listed as a Trophy on PlayStation and Achievement on Xbox and Steam, is called Astute Appraiser. It requires you to sell a single treasure for at least 100,000 pesetas to the Merchant, and it is no easy task. However, you will find all the information you need to complete the challenge in this guide.

How to inlay gemstones in Resident Evil 4 Remake
You will find different treasures during your adventure if you carefully explore your surroundings. They can be sold to the Merchant and get money in exchange, which can be used to upgrade your items and buy new valuable objects. Some treasures can be combined with gemstones to increase their value further.
If you open the Key Items & Treasures menu, you will see all the treasures you currently own. The ones that can be inlaid with gemstones are clearly recognizable because they have one or more empty slots, and this is also highlighted in their description. These tiny little stones, as well, can be found during exploration and can also occasionally be looted from enemies you defeat.
Each has a set price, and bonuses are granted if you combine two or more gemstones. For example, two gems of the same color give an x1.2 boost in value, while five gemstones of diverse colors equal an x2 bonus. When you open the Key Items & Treasures menu and select a treasure, you get the option Inlay gemstones.

From this new submenu, you can pick the gems you currently own to get the best possible combination and increase the value of the treasure. And you can also check all the available gemstone bonuses from the same menu. Pay attention to the gem’s shape on the jewel, as it could be round or rectangular, and choose the stone accordingly; otherwise, it won’t fit.
How to get the Astute Appraiser Trophy/Achievement in RE4 Remake
The Astute Appraiser is a Trophy/Achievement available in Resident Evil 4 Remake, and it is also listed as a Challenge in the game. You must sell one treasure for at least 100,000 pesetas to complete it.
To do this, you need to collect the Elegant Crown, which alone can be sold for 19,000 pesetas, and inlay the right gemstones in it. Ensure you buy the Treasure Map for each area from the Merchant, so you will know where treasures are located.

The Elegant Crown can be found in the Depths during Chapter 10, shortly after you leave the flooded area, proceeding to the left. It is near a body and a lantern.
Alternatively, you can find an Elegant Crown in Chapter 13 shortly after defeating the first enemy with a rocket launcher. The treasure is hidden inside a crate on the right side of the trail, near a red truck and a green forklift.
How to sell the Elegant Crown for 100,000 pesetas
Open the Key Items & Treasures menu in Resident Evil 4 Remake, select the Elegant Crown, then Inlay gemstones. From here, you need to pick the right gems to raise the value of the treasure to 100,000 pesetas.
You have two options here. The first is to select five different gems, which are:
1x Red Beryl
1x Yellow Diamond
1x Emerald
1x Sapphire
1x Alexandrite
You will benefit from the Five Colors Bonus, which equals an x2 bonus. This way, the Elegant Crown will be worth 100,000 pesetas. Alternatively, inlay 2x Yellow Diamonds and 3x Red Beryls to activate the Duo & Trio Bonus for an x1.8 multiplier. The gems are worth 7,000 and 9,000 pesetas, respectively, and the Elegant Crown will reach a selling price of 108,000 pesetas.
You can choose the combination you prefer based on the gemstones you currently have at your disposal. Both are valid for the Astute Appraiser challenge. Once done, go to the Merchant and sell it to unlock the Trophy/Achievement in RE4 Remake.
