Trump Slams ‘Gutless Pig’ Bill Barr After Former AG Says He May Be ‘Toast’ Due to Federal Indictment

Donald Trump hammered his former Attorney General Bill Barr as a “gutless pig” and urged supporters to turn off Fox News when he is on as a guest following his analysis of the presidential candidate’s federal indictment last week.

Trump described Barr as a “disgruntled former employee” and a “lazy” Attorney General in a post on his Truth Social media platform.

“Virtually everyone is saying that the indictment is about election interference [and] should not have been brought, except Bill Barr,” he railed.

“He doesn’t mean what he’s saying, it’s just misinformation,” Trump continued. “He knows the indictment is bull****. Turn off Fox News when that ‘Gutless Pig’ is on!”

I generally don’t like when President Trump uses sharp and insulting language but calling Barr a GUTLESS PIG is very tame compared to what he really deserves pic.twitter.com/Kd1afgUAhy

Why Did Trump Slam Bill Barr This Time?

What did Barr say to prompt Trump to hammer him as a “gutless pig?”

Over the weekend, the two-time attorney general surmised that the federal indictment that came down the pike last week presents some very serious legal peril.

Trump was charged following Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into alleged improper handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home. He could face an absurd 400 years in prison and over $9 million in fines if convicted on all counts and the judge orders the penalties to be served consecutively.

Barr, in an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” indicated that if even a fraction of the counts stick and result in a successful conviction, then Trump is in some serious trouble.

“If even half of it is true, he is toast,” Barr asserted. “I mean, it’s a very detailed indictment, and it’s very, very damning.”

Barr Denies There Is A Witch Hunt

Bill Barr’s analysis of Trump’s situation is fairly accurate. Unless the former President’s lawyers run the board and get not-guilty verdicts on every single count – he’s got some problems.

But he naturally had to continue by going off the rails.

“This idea of presenting Trump as a victim here or a victim of a witch hunt is ridiculous,” Barr said.

Of course, that’s untrue. You can have a fairly detailed indictment and still acknowledge the obvious fact that such charges have never been brought against other major presidential candidates despite having allegedly committed the same infractions.

Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Mike Pence have not been pursued the way Trump has despite also having improperly handled classified documents.

Why? Because they’re not targets of the very real witch hunt.

With over 70 years of legal experience between them, I can’t wait to remind America how foolish #BillBarr and @glennkirschner2 look when these two prove to be nothing more (or less) than having a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Despite alleging this isn’t a witch hunt, Barr did concede that Trump has been the victim of such politically motivated pursuits in the past.

“Yes, he’s been a victim in the past. His adversaries have obsessively pursued him with phony claims. And I’ve been at his side defending against them when he is a victim,” he said. “But this is much different. He’s not a victim here.”

This version of the latest attempt to get Trump is very real … just like all the other ones were super-real.

Barr has urged Republicans in the past to pivot away from Trump as a whole, shaken by the relatively tame events surrounding the Capitol riot of 2021.

“The election was not ‘stolen,’ Trump lost it,” he wrote in his book, urging the GOP to move on from Trump and his “erratic personal behavior” in 2024.

Trump, aside from calling Bill Barr a “gutless pig,” has referred to him as “slow, lethargic,” and accused him of being more interested in “being accepted by the corrupt Washington Media and Elite than serving the American people.”
