Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich charges that the latest indictment of Donald Trump is an “absurdity” and will, in the long run, only serve to get him nominated “by a landslide.”
Trump was indicted on 13 counts by a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia following an investigation into alleged efforts to “overturn” the 2020 presidential election.
Gingrich, in an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday, pointed out the lengthy history of Democrat lawmakers disputing election results and even taking direct action during the electoral process to delegitimize those results.
“Should the Al Gore electors from Florida have all been charged? Should the former chairman of the January 6 Committee, who was an alternative elector in Mississippi, be charged? Right?” he wondered. “This is all crazy.”
“Let’s just be clear what’s going on,” added Gingrich. “The left is afraid of Donald Trump. He is the one outsider who has shaken their whole system and they’re willing to destroy the law in order to destroy Trump.”
He’s correct. But let’s also be clear – establishment Republicans are also afraid of Donald Trump.

Newt Gingrich: Trump Charges Are Going to Get Him Elected
In the end, Newt Gingrich said he believes the American people will see through the political persecution and carry the former President to victory.
“I think in the end, this is going to nominate Trump by a landslide and the nomination will be over by February 1st,” he said.
“I think that if the election next year is between those who defend the Constitution and the rule of law and a corrupt family living out the Clinton, Obama, Biden, corruption of the American system,” Gingrich added, looking to the future.
“Alright, I have a hunch that the American people repudiate the corruption.”

Gingrich believes Republican voters are so fired-up and disgusted by the two-tier system of justice that they will volunteer for Trump’s campaign in overwhelming numbers.
“I think the day he walks into a courtroom, 15 million people will volunteer to be surrogates campaigning for Trump. I think people are now so angry,” he said.
Gingrich called the Georgia indictment an “absurdity” and said if the state had any self-respect they would get Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis “out of office.”
We now have DAs releasing indictments before they are even voted on by grand juries.
There is no such thing as justice in this country.
The entire system has been weaponized.
Fanni Willis should be relieved of her position.

Gore Tried to Find Votes
Newt Gingrich’s mention of the 2000 election is particularly interesting. The Political Insider has covered the election denial that came from Al Gore’s camp over 20 years ago extensively.
After the 2000 contest against George W. Bush, Gore refused to accept the free and fair election results and would not concede defeat. He instead tied up the election process through litigation in the courts for months.
Gore consistently lost his bid to overturn the election results in the lower courts and kept fighting in the Florida Supreme Court. He would not concede until mid-December of that year, a month and a half after Election Day.
As late as August of 2017, Gore again suggested he actually won the 2000 election.

Lawyer Alan Dershowitz, part of Gore’s legal team that objected to Florida’s presidential vote in 2000, dropped a bombshell in a Daily Mail column Wednesday when he confessed that they had tried to find uncounted presidential votes, lobbied officials, and fought in the courts to steer the election towards their guy.
“No one was indicted, disbarred, disciplined or even much criticized for those efforts, yet here we stand today,” said Dershowitz.
ALAN DERSHOWITZ: Al Gore, his legal team and I tried to find uncounted presidential votes, lobbied officials and fought in the courts in 2000. The only difference now? The candidate’s name is Donald Trump… That’s why this prosecution is an outrage https://t.co/VF40nB3ZEN

Numerous prominent Democrats denied election results in 2000, 2004, and of course, again in 2016.
In all, seven different Democrats objected 11 times to certifying the results of the 2016 presidential election.
“Electoral challenges have long been part of American history,” Dershowitz wrote. “Only now are they being criminalized.”
Only now is the candidate named Trump. That’s the difference.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
