Some illegal immigrants are so fed up with harsh weather, notorious crime rates, and an inability to find lucrative work in Chicago that they are moving back home to Venezuela.
This is according to a report published over the weekend by the Chicago Tribune.
The piece chronicles the trials and tribulations of several illegal immigrant families, including those of Venezuela-born Michael Castejon.
Castejon complains that the process for work permits takes too long, that rental assistance is running out, and that once he found work in construction, the pay wasn’t enough to sustain his family.
“The American Dream doesn’t exist anymore,” he told the outlet. “There’s nothing here for us.”
So basically, summer vacay is over????

Illegal Immigrants Leaving Chicago
Reports indicate that the city of Chicago has been inundated with nearly 21,000 illegal immigrants in just over a year. Illinois, this past summer, cracked the top 10 of states dealing with illegal aliens.
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) penned a letter to President Joe Biden last month encouraging him to take “swift action” regarding the illegal immigrant crisis in his state, something that he called an “untenable situation.”
Now, it seems, that those entering the country illegally and volunteering to travel to the Windy City are getting very picky about their living situation.
“Chicago has become so unpleasant that migrants are fleeing back to Venezuela after being dumped in shelters and refused better-paying jobs,” the Daily Mail writes.

Castejon, the Tribune adds, is displeased with not being granted accommodations upon arriving in Chicago and feels he and his family would be better served heading back to Venezuela.
“We didn’t know things would be this hard. I thought the process was faster,” he said. “We just want to be home. If we’re going to be sleeping in the streets here, we’d rather be sleeping in the streets over there.”
Castejon and his family were the beneficiaries of a city voucher program that gives up to $15,000 for up to six months of rental assistance.
The Daily Mail notes that dozens of families, through the assistance of Catholic Charities of Chicago, have left the city “to either move back home or elsewhere in the (United) States.”

Not Happy With Living Arrangements In NYC Either
It appears illegal immigrants in Chicago aren’t the only ones upset about the accommodations they’re being given in so-called “sanctuary” cities.
The Daily Mail also ran a report stating illegal immigrants are “refusing to stay in tent shelters” set up for them in New York City “as they prefer their plush hotels in Manhattan.”

The Political Insider revealed that New York City will spend over $1 billion – a staggering amount – on hotels to house illegal immigrants over the next three years.
Mayor Eric Adams, who once declared that New York would remain a sanctuary city under his administration, initially housed the illegals in free luxury New York City hotel rooms or “mega-shelters.”
Some of those hotels or shelters were replete with television sets, Xbox gaming consoles, and “culturally appropriate” meals.
It seems that those luxuries have spoiled the illegal aliens who allegedly hopped right back on the bus to the hotels after being transported to tent shelters in Brooklyn.
“I cannot stay here,” one man fumed. “This is crazy.”
Adams insists the influx of illegal immigrants to New York will “destroy” his city. He estimates that beyond the staggering shelter costs, the crisis will cost New York City $12 billion over the next three years.
Critics contend it might be cheaper to simply secure the border and enforce existing immigration law.
