Metalheads rejoice. Rumors of a new bronze colorway for the iPhone 16 Pro are taking shape.
Per 9to5Mac, consumer tech reviewer Sonny Dickson posted a photo on X of iPhone 16 Pro dummy units in the expected colorways: Natural Titanium, White Titanium, Black Titanium, and a rumored new bronze option.
The current generation of iPhone 15 Pros also have four colorways, but based on this leak, it looks like the Blue Titanium version will be swapped out for the bronze. In the image, the new color is a muted brown, with a slight sheen, and decidedly not gold. The iPhone 15 Pro lineup also didn’t include a gold colorway, so it seems like Apple is continuing to move away from the flashier sheen. Going with bronze would be a fitting choice for the iPhone 16 Pro since it would be in keeping with the metallic theme. The iPhone 15 Pro lineup was the first to be made with durable, yet lightweight titanium chassis.
iPhone 16 rumors are heating up as the expected Apple event is merely weeks away. Apple hasn’t announced the date yet, but the new batch of iPhones has historically debuted in mid to early September. So far, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to have larger displays (6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively), thinner bezels, longer battery life, a tetra-prism telephoto camera, and Apple Intelligence features with the official iOS 18 release.
Other announcements expected at the September iPhone event include a rumored partnership with Google for its Gemini AI features. Apple has already partnered with OpenAI for bringing opt-in ChatGPT capabilities to Apple Intelligence, but the tech giant plans to offer Apple users multiple options for their choice of AI models. “We’re looking forward to doing integrations with other models, including Google Gemini, for instance, in the future,” said Craig Federighi, senior VP of Apple software engineering, in June.
