Irish President Accuses Israel of Leaking Congratulatory Letter to Iran’s President That Was Actually Leaked by Iran

President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins.

The President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, is under fire after accusing Israel of leaking a congratulatory letter he wrote to the new president of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.

The letter, however, was actually leaked by the Iranians themselves.

The July 11, 2024 letter, which has been criticized by Irish politicians for its tone when engaging with the murderous regime, was shared widely on social media, and Higgins does not seem to enjoy the blowback.

Rather than addressing Iran’s brutality against their own citizens and their flagrant funding of international terrorism, the congenial letter stressed the need for stability, cooperation, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The letter also pledges to open an Irish embassy in Iran, expresses “condolences” for the death of Raisi, the butcher, and congratulates Pezeshkian on his “election.”

On Sunday, speaking in New York where he addressed a United Nations event, Higgins said his letter “was a standard one I have written to many heads of state, and I stressed in it the importance of peace in the region, and the importance as well of diplomacy returning in relation to the resolution of disputes and so forth.”

When asked how the letter became public and if he knew who leaked it, he blamed ‘the Jews.

“I do indeed, it was certainly the Israeli embassy.”

According to The Irish Times, the Israeli embassy in Dublin responded to the Higgins’ accusation on Sunday night.

“This baseless accusation is highly inflammatory and potentially slanderous and the embassy rejects it completely. The fact remains that the letter was written and therefore it is the burden of the author to defend its content, which did not mention the threat Iran poses in the region, that it calls for Israel’s destruction, that it arms and funds terrorist organisations like Hamas and Hizbullah, not to mention the violations of human rights against its own citizens.”

Karen Levers addressed Higgins directly on X and brought the receipts.

“Hello @PresidentIRL. You are sadly mistaken and it seems you are intent on making baseless accusations against the Israeli Embassy in Dublin. The Iranian Regime in Dublin’s X account leaked it and it appears I was the first to repost it. The Iranian Regime in Dublin later deleted the post but I have the screenshots as proof. It can be found as a pinned post on my TL.”

Ireland’s president accused Israel of leaking a letter in which he sent his best wishes to the new president of Iran (a terror-supporting barbaric regime that beats women to death).

In reality, Iran leaked his letter.

But it is so much easier to blame the Jews. pic.twitter.com/mBLaiewltt
