Crystal Magnum, an exotic dancer who accused three innocent Duke lacrosse players of rape and destroyed their lives, has finally admitted she lied.

In 2006, Mangum accused the three men of rape after a party.  The false accusation ignited a national firestorm and engaged the race-rage apparatus.

Magnum was recently interviewed from prison, where the darling of the liberal media is serving time after she was convicted of second-degree murder for the 2013 stabbing murder of her boyfriend.

Mangum told  “Let’s Talk with Kat,” host Katerena DePasquale, “I testified falsely against them by saying that they raped me when they didn’t, and that was wrong. And I betrayed the trust of a lot of other people who believed in me.”

“I made up a story that wasn’t true because I wanted validation from people and not from God,” Mangum said.

She added that she hopes the men will forgive her.

“I want them to know that I love them, and they didn’t deserve that, and I hope that they can forgive me.”

In 2007, the victims of Mangum’s cruel hoax, Dave Evans, Collin Finnerty, and Reade Seligmann,  reached an undisclosed financial settlement with Duke University.

Duke University released the following statement announcing the settlement:

This has been an extraordinary year for Duke students David Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann, who were accused of serious crimes they did not commit. In April, after a thorough review, the North Carolina Attorney General declared that they were innocent of all charges and that the charges never should have been brought. We welcomed their exoneration and deeply regret the difficult year they and their families have had to endure. They conducted themselves with great dignity during their long ordeal.
