With the future of TikTok still hanging in the balance, other social media companies are scrambling to fill the gaps it may leave in the market.
Instagram recently announced CapCut video editing rival Edits, and now X (formerly Twitter) and Bluesky are both rolling out vertical video feeds.
“An immersive new home for videos is rolling out to users in the U.S. today,” posted X’s official account on Sunday.
X’s new video feed can be accessed via a play button at the bottom of the screen.
Bluesky, meanwhile, is also hopping on the trend. “We had to get in on the video action too — Bluesky now has custom feeds for video!” the platform wrote in a post. “Like any other feed, you can choose to pin these or not. Bluesky is yours to customize.”
“In video custom feeds, you can swipe up to enter a timeline of only video posts,” the company added, linking to the custom feed.
So there you have it: Even if TikTok doesn’t manage to find a U.S. buyer in time, there will likely be another 50+ vertical video feeds that have popped up in an attempt to plug the gap.
