You can actually ask Siri to reboot your iPhone if you have iOS 16 installed. Here’s how it works and it’s mega convenient.
No Need to Press Any Key Combination – Just Ask Siri to Reboot Your iPhone for You if You’re Running iOS 16
Why is this convenient, you ask? Because if you own one of the many modern iPhones, you know that pressing and holding the power button doesn’t bring up the slide-to-unlock screen. Instead, you have to press several keys one after the other before you can do that.
Thankfully, Apple lets you avoid that finger ninja stuff by going to Settings > General > Shut Down after which you can simply slide to power down the iPhone. But, even this method is not convenient because both of them lets you shutdown your iPhone and not actually reboot it. If you want to reboot it, you have to shut it down and power it back again manually. Not exactly a reboot, but a shut down followed by a power on.
In iOS 16 for iPhone, you can actually reboot your iPhone by just asking Siri. The only thing you have to tap on is a ‘Yes’ button on the display. Here’s how you do it.
Tutorial
For this to work, you must have Siri enabled and working on your iPhone and obviously running iOS 16. If you don’t have Siri enabled, go to Settings > Siri & Search and enable Siri from here.
Once Siri has been enabled, simply press and hold the Home button or the Power button on your iPhone and then say ‘Reboot my iPhone.’ Siri will then ask if you want to restart this device – tap on Confirm or just say ‘yes.’ Your iPhone will reboot.
See how convenient that was?
Rebooting your device – whichever it may be – actually ends up fixing a lot of problems which we may not even realize. For example, the other day one of the USB-C ports on my MacBook Pro suddenly stopped working. A quick reboot fixed that issue and it was like brand new again. On my iPhone, I run into occasional app crashes which are usually fixed by a simple reboot. Even network related issues can be fixed by a quick restart.
In other words, before you completely lose hope and decide to switch your ecosystem, try giving it a reboot, regardless of which device you have. Also, keep your operating system up to date at all times.
