Switch from Stack to List Style Notifications in iOS 16

Do not like the stack style notifications in iOS 16 Lock Screen on iPhone? You can change it to list, just like how it was on iOS 15.

iOS 16 Lets You Switch from Stack to List Style of Notifications on the iPhone – Do it Now if You Liked the Old Style Notifications on the Lock Screen

iOS 16 puts huge focus on the Lock Screen. So much in fact that Apple defaults to a new stack style of notifications so that you get a glance of your customized Lock Screen and wallpaper first before anything else. All it takes is a swipe up from the bottom to see your notifications rather than putting them up front in a list style.

Stack style notifications are great in iOS 16 but not quite wonderful for everyone out there.

For a lot of people, the list style of notifications is the way to go. Even I prefer them since they don’t require a swipe up to bring them into view. It’s super convenient and a lot of you must be wondering how you can revert from stack to list. In this tutorial, we will show you how to do that and it’s pretty simple as well.

Tutorial

Step 1. On your iPhone, launch the Settings app from the Home Screen.

Step 2. Tap on Notifications.

Step 3. Right at the top you’ll see a Display As section with three options – Count, Stack and List. Choose List and your notifications will now show up how they did in iOS 15 in list style.

Tap on List and your notifications will look like how they were on the iOS 15 Lock Screen.

If you feel the need to go back to stack style of notifications then just follow the steps again and select Stack in the end. It’s that simple.

Which method you end up using it entirely up to you. If you want to show off your Lock Screen every single time, or love having a glance at your wallpaper without anything in between then stack notifications were made with you in mind.
