Imagine dishing out the cash for an iPad Pro and whipping it out in a coffee shop, only to have everyone around you thinking you have a lowly, regular iPad because the sign on the back of the device just says “iPad.”
In fact, that’s not very hard to imagine, because that’s exactly how things were on earlier generations of iPad Pro models. But that’s behind us now.
The new iPad Pro (6th generation) has a sign on the back that says “iPad Pro,” and now everything is right with the world. Granted, it’s still a very small sign, down near the bottom at the back of the device, but everyone who looks closely will now know what a cool cat you are.

Earlier this year, Apple gave the same treatment to the iPad Air, whose 5th generation has a sign saying “iPad Air” on the back. Earlier generations just said “iPad.”

Of course, if you want to personalize your iPad Pro, Apple lets you an add an engraving for free, which will be etched near the top of the device. Theoretically, you could add two additional lines saying “iPad Pro,” just to make absolutely sure everyone is aware you have a Pro device on your hands. Just saying.
The new iPad Pro is available for order now, and it will be shipping to customers on Oct. 26. The 11-inch model starts at $799, and the 12.9-inch model starts at $1,099.
