Disclaimer: I stopped watching the NFL after its disastrous decision to allow players to discredit our country by kneeling during the National Anthem and especially after the NFL backed BLM, the destructive racist group that destroyed cities and minority neighborhoods.
After not watching a Sunday afternoon game for a decade I came back to the States only to turn on the TV and see the NFL pushing BLM, which was busy destroying our nation’s cities. I turned off my TV and found something better to do.
But for some unknown reason I turned on the TV to the NFL a couple of days ago and today I heard about Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy from the San Francisco 49ers. This is why I loved sports and this country.
Brock Purdy was a great athlete in high school but only a few colleges recruited him. He ended up going to Iowa State University after a humbling visit to the University of Alabama.
In his freshman year, Purdy was placed in the starting position due to circumstances and he made the best of the situation. In his four years as a starter at Iowa State University, Purdy was one of the best QBs in the Big 12 Conference.
But he just wasn’t tall enough said the NFL scouts. Purdy was not expected to be chosen but he was drafted in the last spot in the 2022 draft. He was named Mr. Irrelevant for being picked last in the draft.
But he made the most of his situation again. Here is a video of Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy’s journey.
Now Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy has become Mr. Relevant. His team, the San Francisco 49rs, has the longest winning streak in the league. He plays tonight against the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs.
