NOT A MOVIE: East Palestine, Ohio “controlled” explosion and resulting toxic chemical mushroom cloud.
In 2022 Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Noah Baumbach produced the absurdist comedy White Noise starring Adam Driver about an Ohio family whose lives change after an air contamination accident near their home.
The filming took place at several locations in Ohio.
In the movie made for Netflix — The family’s lives are disrupted when a cataclysmic train accident casts a cloud of chemical waste over the town. This “Airborne Toxic Event” forces a massive evacuation, which leads to a major traffic jam on the highway. Jack drives to a gas station to refill his car, where he is inadvertently exposed to the cloud.
Michael Burea posted the trailer for the movie.
ast Palestine, Ohio residents were reportedly cast as extras for this movie — of a train disaster and toxic chemical explosion!
WOIO Cleveland reported:
Ben Ratner and his family, casted as extras in Netflix’s ‘White Noise’, are longtime residents of the village who continue to hope the help and attention from Norfolk Southern doesn’t stop as the news begins to fade.
Ratner says he waited three days after the evacuation order was lifted to move his family back into their home. The family is still waiting for testing to be performed just for peace of mind.
