The Great War: Western Front Reveals Campaign Footage in its Second Deep Dive Video

A new trailer for The Great War: Western Front has been revealed by Frontier Foundry and Petroglyph today. This new trailer reveals new details about the upcoming RTS game that’s coming to PC in March. The trailer shows off a detailed look at the immersive and authentic campaign in which the players have to make strategic choices in the battlefield while knowing every decision can have an impact on their war efforts.

You can watch the video, dubbed ‘Commanding the Western Front’ and featuring Senior Producer Ted Morris, Lead Designer Chris Becker, Senior Designer Patrick Pannullo, and Senior Content Designer David Condor from Petroglyph below:

As we can see from the video trailer, The Great War: Western Front will have an immersive campaign in which players will take the role of both Theatre and Field Commander as they relive or redefine history. Players can choose between taking charge as the early embers of war flicker in 1914 or assuming command of the front in 1926 in this RTS game that aims to let players be smart about their strategies.

Every decision players make in the game will have a telling impact on their war effort. Players must strategize how to utilize vital economies of gold and supply best. Additionally, this strategic development will be present in things such as research as players will have to figure out which ground-breaking technologies they will commit their research points into in an effort to tip the balance of war in their favor in The Great War: Western Front.

Returning to deteriorating battlefields carrying the scars from previous conflicts, Commanders must utilise their resources to bring their plans to fruition, creating intricate trench networks, engaging enemy fighters in gruelling dogfights or launching co-ordinated artillery barrages.

In The Great War: Western Front, players will discover a war of attrition where each victory or defeat has its own cost. This means that players will have to realize that consequences for both will be aplenty. At times, it may be best to call a halt in the current operation to preserve valuable resources and morale as they seek to strategically wear down their opponents National Will. There’s nothing terrible about losing or strategically retreating, right?

The Great War: Western Front will be available on March 30 on PC. Currently, players can pre-order the game through Steam or the Epic Games Store for $29.99 to get the base experience. The Victory Edition of the game includes a Digital Field Guide, the Original soundtrack of the game, and a Wallpaper Collection. Pre-orders of the game will also allow players to gain access to it three days in advance.
