OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock is Made Out of a 3D Microcrystalline Rock, But What Exactly is It?

Last week we saw OnePlus teasing a special OnePlus 11 that will be made with a material never used in the industry before. Based on the information provided then, we were under the impression that the company would release a phone with a marble back, considering that marble is something we have not seen in a smartphone. However, the company has now answered, which is way more confusing than before.

The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock limited edition is the new variant, with each unit having a different back than the other

The company finally decided to reveal that the upcoming phone will be called the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Limited Edition, and it does make sense because the previously posted teaser photo had a picture of Jupiter. What we do not know is just what the phone is going to be made out of.

The company confirms that the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock is made from a 3D microcrystalline rock. Sadly, we don’t know what 3D microcrystalline rock means, to be honest. It could be a rock with tiny crystals, but it isn’t very clear.

Additional details about the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock were also spared as the company has talked about how the production yield of this 3D microcrystalline rock is not as high as glass. The company has gone to the extent of developing nine processes to make all of this happen. Sadly, the company did not share anything more than that. We do not even have access to any official pictures from OnePlus about the phone.

However, tipster @_snoopytech seems to know what’s up as they have shared some pictures of this OnePlus Jupiter Rock edition.

We know very little about this apparent OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock limited edition device. It is safe to say that the device will be based on the base variant. We expect to see special edition packaging and hopefully upgraded storage, but aside from that, I cannot seem to think about anything out of this world. The phone is going official on March 29th, later this week, so you do not have to wait long.

OnePlus has a history of releasing some really cool special edition devices. In the past, we have seen the McLaren edition phones, and although the partnership ended some time ago, it is safe to say that those phones were really cool. Similarly, OnePlus recently showcased a water-cooled OnePlus 11 concept, another device that took us by surprise. Let’s see how this latest limited edition turns out to be.
