A new update for Gran Turismo 7 will drop soon, and it seems developer Polyphony Digital went and dropped the version 1.31 patch notes a bit early. They’ve since been pulled down, but of course, fans made sure they were preserved for posterity. The following Tweet is in Japanese, but some things can still be gleaned from them easily enough.

It seems Gran Turismo 7 is getting a 120hz mode and VRR support, so those with the most cutting-edge screens are going to get an even smoother experience. Players can also look forward to new Nurburgring Endurance layouts, events, and a variety of changes to the game’s physics (with adjusted times and requirements for various challenges to accommodate them).

Of course, Gran Turismo 7 update 1.31 will include a variety of new rides, including the Alphard Elegance ’18, Porsche 904 GTS ’64, Porsche 959 ’87, Audi RS5 Turbo DTM ’19, Mazda 3 ’19. The notes also tease that Super Formula 1 cars will be coming in a future patch in April.
Haven’t been keeping up with Gran Turismo 7? The game’s last major update introduced the free GT7 PS VR2 mode, which Wccftech’s Kai Powell deemed a system-seller for the new headset…
“Even with just a standard DualSense controller in hand, the racing action feels as realistic as the highest-end racing simulator that money can buy. The adaptive triggers and controller rumble, in combination with 3D audio through any connected audio device, only serve to heighten the realism of Gran Turismo 7 enough that the lack of a steering wheel in hand can temporarily be forgotten as players lose themselves within the leather exterior of a custom-tuned Pagani Huayra.
While Gran Turismo 7 is a full-priced title on its own, it should be considered an essential purchase to help show off the PlayStation VR2 to anyone curious about the headset. Even without a racing wheel to complete the experience, getting the controller into curious players’ hands and letting them take a test drive on the High-Speed Ring can prove the potential of the platform even on the first day on the market.”
Gran Turismo 7 can be played on PS4 and PS5. We don’t know exactly when update 1.31 will launch, but it should arrive this week, likely on March 30.
