A new The Last of Us Part I mod was shared online today, providing access to the debug menu with tons of different options not available in the vanilla game.
The mod, developed by TheMagicalBlob and available for download from Nexus Mods, is a modified executable file that grants access to many different options, including a free cam option that allows players to experience the game like it was never possible before. As the mod is a new executable for the game, you should backup the original file before using the modified one. It may also be flagged as a virus, but multiple reports confirm the file is legit and not a virus. You can check out the free camera option in action in the video below.
Fans of the series by Naughty Dog have been waiting a long time to experience Joel and Ellie’s story on PC, but most were disappointed by the many issues plaguing The Last of Us Part I PC port which was released this week on Steam and the Epic Games Store. A first patch addressed unspecified performance yesterday, but performance and crashing issues are still widespread. Naughty Dog confirmed it is looking into a variety of issues like loading shaders taking too long, memory leak issues, and more. Additional patches are in the works, and they will hopefully address these issues to finally allow PC players to experience the game the way it was meant to.
The Last of Us Part I is now available on PC and PlayStation 5. You can learn more about the remake of what is considered one of the best games ever made by checking out Kai’s review of the PlayStation 5 version.
