Live A Live 2D-HD Remake To Launch Next Month On PC, PlayStation Consoles

The 2D-HD remake of Live A Live, the classic JRPG by Square Enix originally released only in Japan on the Super Famicom system, will release on PC and PlayStation consoles next month, Square Enix confirmed today.

The remake will launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in around one month, on April 27th. A 20% off discount is available for all pre-orders on Steam and for PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation consoles.

While the game is still one month away, players on these formats won’t have to wait until April 27th to try out the 2D-HD remake of this classic RPG, as a playable demo is now available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 and will be later today on Steam. All progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game. More information on this rather peculiar role-playing game can be found on Square Enix’s official website.

Live A Live has long been considered one of the cult classics of the 16-bit era that very few played, as the game was only released in Japan. The remake allowed players all over the world to enjoy the game’s different stories set in different ages and its amazing soundtrack, although the experience worsens a bit in its third act, as highlighted by Nathan in his review of the Nintendo Switch release.
