Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis declared that he is the one who can “destroy leftism” in America.
The Florida governor made the comments during a Memorial Day interview with “Fox & Friends.” It marks his boldest declaration yet as to what his campaign will encompass.
“Why is right now the time for Ron DeSantis to run for president?” DeSantis was asked.
“Because everyone knows if I’m the nominee, I will beat Biden and I will serve two terms and I will be able to destroy leftism in this country and leave woke ideology on the dustbin of history,” he fired off.
DESANTIS: “If I’m the nominee, I will beat Biden. I will serve two terms and I will be able to DESTROY leftism in this country.”

Could DeSantis Actually Be the Candidate Who Can Destroy Leftism?
While it is very early on in his campaign, we’re looking forward to hearing how Governor Ron DeSantis intends to ‘destroy leftism’ in America.
During the “Fox & Friends” interview, he pointed to his track record in the Sunshine State and his recent success in elections in which other Republicans fell short.
And his track record in Florida is no small feat.
“At the end of the day, I’ve shown in Florida an ability to win huge swaths of voters that Republicans typically can’t win while also delivering the boldest agenda anywhere in the country,” he said.
For having a “failed launch”, as his foes try to say, he sure is getting a lot of coverage compared to, almost anyone else.

DeSantis went on to suggest that the legacy media is attacking him more than any other candidate, which is objectively false. It may have seemed like that with the onslaught of negative coverage over his campaign announcement, but no politician in America is attacked by the media more than former President Donald Trump.
But, as The Political Insider has pointed out, if he were to win the nomination they will attack him like rabid dogs just as vociferously as they would any other candidate. This was evidenced last week when they began comparing his campaign launch to the KKK.
People forget that even the squishiest of Republicans have been portrayed as evil long before Trump came along. Mitt Romney was an abuser of women who hated dogs and was going to put black people back in chains. George W. Bush was originally ‘literally Hitler.’ Before John McCain was the left’s hero, back in 2008 he was “the next Hitler.”
Then came Trump, who broke the media and exposed them for being the enemy of the American people that they are. He made them say the quiet part out loud.
Nevertheless, he’s right that they will lie and refer to him as this or that leader of defunct socialist European political parties from the early 20th Century.

No More Excuses
DeSantis’ following comments may have been a jab at the current frontrunner for the GOP nomination.
“I pledge to Republican voters, if you nominate me, I will be taking the oath of office on January 20th, 2025, on the west side of the Capitol,” he said. “No excuses.”
“No more excuses about why we can’t get it done. We need to get it done and I will get it done.”
Needing to get it done is an understatement. This might sound cliche but we’ve hit the breaking point – this country will not survive another four years of leftism in the White House. It simply won’t.
DeSantis and Trump often talk about how they intend to destroy leftism. Which one will actually do it? Trump tried and was unable to deliver, despite being easily the most committed to it. He was railroaded by a pandemic that was blown out of proportion by the media and an FBI and DOJ that were clearly subverting his every move during his first term.
Why that would be different with DeSantis is something his team hasn’t said.

While DeSantis made his pledge to destroy leftism on the Fox News Network, Trump has been producing campaign videos vowing the same and providing more detail about his plan of action.
Much of his focus has, rightly so, been on reforming the education system where woke ideology exists as a cesspool of incestuous leftist mind diseases.
Earlier this month, Trump announced a “higher education” platform he’d implement in a return to the White House which includes a plan to seize endowments from universities that engage in racial discrimination “under the guise of equity.”
The Republican frontrunner also vowed to adopt a parental bill of rights that includes “complete curriculum transparency” as a means for parents to fight back against the “pink-haired communists” littering the education landscape.

Prior to that, Trump announced a seven-point plan to combat rising crime in America, including a “record” investment in police officers and a return to stop-and-frisk preventative measures.
His plan also calls for DOJ investigations against “radical Marxist prosecutors” who are failing to enforce laws based on race.
DeSantis actually did remove a radical Marxist prosecutor and appears poised to do it again.
Destroying leftism is necessary for America to flourish, but which one of the GOP contenders will help the average working taxpayer more? Recent polls suggest Trump has a leg up when it comes to rescuing the economy from the Biden regime.

There is a lot to like coming out of both Republican presidential campaigns. But who is more likely to deliver in your estimation? Or should these two conservatives get on the same page and work together to destroy leftism in this country?
