Country Star Cody Johnson’s Powerful Defense Of Jason Aldean – ‘If Being Patriotic Makes You An Outlaw, Then By God, I’ll Be An Outlaw’

Over the past week, the liberal cancel culture mob has been trying to take down the conservative country music star Jason Aldean over his anti-woke anthem “Try That In A Small Town.” While much of the entertainment world has responded by turning their backs on Aldean, the country music star Cody Johnson is standing by him in a big way.

Johnson Defends Aldean

While performing in St. Louis, Missouri last Friday, Johnson stopped his concert to launch into a powerful defense of Aldean and his song.

“We live in a time where everyone gets pissed off at Jason Aldean for putting out a song,” said Johnson, 36. “If you’re videoing this, and Jason Aldean if you’re seeing this video, you keep it up, brother. You do you, boo boo.”

“If being patriotic makes you an outlaw, then by God, I’ll be an outlaw,” he continued.

Boom!

Cody Johnson threw his support behind Jason Aldean the other night!!!

Aldean Stops Concert To Address Backlash

That same night, Aldean defended himself during a concert in Cincinnati, Ohio.

“I’ve seen a lot of stuff suggesting I am this, suggesting I am that,” Aldean said. “Here’s the thing, I feel like everybody is entitled to their opinion you can think something all you want to, it doesn’t mean it is true.”

“What I am, is a proud American. I love our country, I want to see it restored to what it once was before all this bulls**t started happening to us,” he continued. “I love my country, I love my family and I will do anything I can to protect that.”

A chant of “USA! USA” then broke out in the crowd as Aldean triumphantly raised his hand in the air.

Aldean Fires Back At Leftists

Liberals have outrageously claimed that “Try That In A Small Town” is a “pro-lynching” song, and they’ve taken issue with the fact that its music video dares to portray the violence and chaos of the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. The backlash got to be so great that Country Music Television (CMT) pulled the “Try That In A Small Town” music video from its rotation.

Last week, Aldean spoke out to defend his song, saying that it is not racist at all.

“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,” he said. “These references are not only meritless, but dangerous.”

“There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far,” he continued. “‘Try That In A Small Town,’ for me, refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief. Because they were our neighbors, and that was above any differences.”

Most entertainers are far too afraid of the liberal cancel culture mob to stand by Aldean, so we applaud Johnson for having his back. In the end, “Try That In A Small Town” is an epic song that voices the frustrations that a silent majority made up of millions of Americans who are fed-up with the woke nonsense.

Here’s hoping that more singers have the guts to support Aldean as Johnson did!
