Elon Musk Slams Media ‘Cheering Squad’ After White House Sends Memo Demanding Outlets ‘Scrutinize Republicans’

Elon Musk just voiced valid concerns that the media appears to serve as a mouthpiece for the Joe Biden administration, saying that they amount to little more than a presidential “cheering squad.”

The X CEO’s comments come as a memo has surfaced showing the White House demanding journalists “ramp up” scrutiny of Republicans as they initiate impeachment inquiries into the President.

The memo includes talking points that the reporters presumably are to use in countering whatever facts and evidence the GOP presents during their inquiry into Biden and his family’s corruption.

A popular X account tweeted a CNN headline on the letter and the memo, saying, “This administration is unreal.”

“The press does seem to be at his beck and call,” Musk replied. “Practically a cheering squad.”

Musk Blasts Media Following White House Memo

It’s safe to say that Musk can go ahead and dispense with the word “seem” in his latest X post.

They are at Biden’s beck and call. They are a cheering squad.

Why else would the White House brazenly send out a letter to friendly media outlets – including CNN, The New York Times, Fox News, the Associated Press, CBS News, and others – prodding them to report on their multi-page set of bullet points?

They knew they’d do the work of a cheer squad. And they’d do it happily.

“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies,” the letter reads in part.

And wouldn’t you know it, senior media reporter Oliver Darcy, the original source for the letter, seemed to agree that the media doesn’t do enough to echo the White House.

“News organizations … have also often failed to robustly call out the mis- and disinformation peddled by Republicans in their coverage, frustrating officials in the Biden White House who believe that the news media should be doing more to dispel lies that saturate the public discourse,” said Darcy.

Yes, the network that provably lied about Russia collusion, the pandemic, and runs cover for the President on a daily basis, doesn’t think they’re doing enough to prostitute themselves for Biden’s sake.

The letter has an uncomfortable feeling of marching orders to the media. It is also notable in the role of White House Counsel’s office. It removes any pretense of separation between the Biden personal legal team and the White House Counsel’s office. https://t.co/YNXYxVxflG

Biden Says ‘Jump’, Media Says ‘How High?’

As Newsbusters reports, several media outlets took their cue from the White House memo and immediately began “kissing the feet of the Biden White House” by producing “blatant” spin.

In fact, check out this effort from ABC News, where George Stephanopoulos offered a tease to the segment:

Impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Speaker McCarthy opens an investigation claiming Biden was involved in his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings despite no evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors.

Refresh my memory – did they ever report on Trump’s impeachments with the disclaimer “despite no evidence”?

The memo notes that impeachment “is grave, rare, and historic” and that the Constitution requires “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Iago from Aladdin would be jealous of the parroting skills on display by Stephanopoulos.

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, again peddling WH spin: “To Washington now and the decision by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden without a House vote in the absence of evidence of impeachable offenses. These latest comments aren’t the first time that Musk has been critical of the media for holding a blatant one-sided bias.

When news emerged that the federal government and intelligence communities suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop scandal even before it broke, while other media controlled the narrative on COVID, the X chief took a stand.

“Why is corporate journalism rushing to defend the state instead of the people?” Musk demanded.

The legacy media should worry about its reputation. We have only just begun.

Musk later issued a warning that he would further expose the media for their own corruption.

“The legacy media should worry about its reputation,” Musk said. “We have only just begun.”
