As we wandered the streets during London Fashion Week there were a few recurring trends that we couldn’t help but take note of. During this time we spotted an affection for trench coats, an enduring love of leather and a downright obsession with Ganni‘s Buckle Ballet Flats.
Rifting off the ballet flat trend and pointed shoes trend that took off during the summer months, Ganni’s flats reached cult-status towards the end of summer, merging the season’s hottest shoe trends whilst injecting that Scandi twist we love so much.
Whilst plucking from these two major trends, Ganni’s ballet flats incorporate another seasonal must-have: buckle detailing. Cropping up all around us, buckle adorned shoe have been a notable trend since Miu Miu debuted their buckle slingbacks at their A/W23 runway show. Since then, high-street retailers have perfected their version of the strappy shoe, sparking a trend in the process. As we move towards the winter months the buckle will remain a key trend, morphing onto boots to keep us warm. We’re already seeing biker boots regain their cool-girl status and much like 2010 we’re itching to get our hands on a pair again.
Unlike other ballet flats that have caught our eye, Ganni’s iteration features an ever-so-slight heel, for a more structured look and better foot support. The snake print, red and white have just been restocked after selling out once—sadly the black pair remain sold out, but we’re told a restock is on the cards!—sothere’s a Ganni slipper to suit your taste. As the street style set have proven, there’s an abundance of ways to style Ganni’s buckle ballet flats. Jeans and a tee make for a natural paring with the cult shoe, however we’ve taken note of those who have styled the pair with monochrome jumpsuit, or their favourite mini or maxi.
