The It List: Everything Our Editors Are Buying This Month

It’s felt like a long old month, hasn’t it? It seems as though it was only a moment ago that we were celebrating the new year, and before you know it, we’re hurtling towards Christmas (though, there are no complaints here). In celebration of the last few weeks of the brighter, cooler season, the shops are full of fall-ready wardrobe staples, and we’ve been hard at work searching through everything to uncover some hidden gems.

Looking for the perfect fine knit? Some designer boots? Or maybe just an editor-approved beauty buy that really works? You’re in the right place. The It List is our rundown of all of the pieces that our editors are actually adding to their baskets this month, and we think they’re so good that they’re worth sharing with you (but let’s just keep them between us).

This month, there’s plenty of double-tap worthy pieces, from luxury It bags to stylish new homeware buys. We’ve even thrown in some great shoes and the buzzy new accessories we don’t want to be without.

“I have a couple of awards galas and evenings coming up this party season, and after many years of scrabbling around to find something to wear, it’s high time I invested in a fabulous gown that I can use on repeat for many events to come! Taller Marmo and its feather-trimmed kaftans, is still at the top of my wish list.”

“In the perfect shade of mottled beige, this oversized jumper from Nobody’s Child also ticks some other important boxes. It has been crafted out of RWS-certified Merino wool, which means the wool has been responsibly sourced. The brand has just released a whole line of great knitwear, so this isn’t the only great find—be sure to check all the styles out.”

“I used to be a heels girl through-and-through, but these days I find myself leaning more towards comfort than ever before. So I’m welcoming these shearling-lined mules into my weekend wardrobe with open arms!”

“My job requires me to travel here, there and everywhere at the drop of a hat, so a sturdy, good-looking carry-on feels like more of an essential than I would’ve ever imagined. Nere is a new travel brand that is helping to shake up what was a really staid and old-fashioned industry—stylish luggage has never been so chic (and well-priced).”

“If you haven’t already fallen in love with Our Place non-stick pans, where have you been? From the moment I first saw these Instagrammable pans I was hooked, but believe me, they deliver on practicality too as the non-stick, multipurpose features really are as good as they say. My latest obsession is their recent collab with Grind in the coffee maker’s unmistakable baby pink. That’s breakfast served up in style.”

“Okay, call me interiors obsessed, but I’m having just as much fun dressing my home as I am myself at the moment, and I’m very into Laetitia Rouget ceramics right now. You may already know her slogan desert plates or floral candle holders, but I have my eye on these charming plates to bring a little colour to even the simplest tablescape.”

“I’m in love with the exquisite fragrances and rich, sumptuous ingredients that make using Ranavat products such an indulgent experience, but if you haven’t tried anything from the brand start with my personal favourite, the Lotus Cleansing Balm, or get an introduction to the complete ritual routine with the Jewel Box Discovery edit. Perfect Christmas self-gifting.”

“Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you, organisation isn’t my strong point. However, I’m determined that 2024 will be the year I get my act together, starting with this chic diary that will encourage me to stay on track.”

“This winter my goal is to dress smarter and a little more “put together”, and this boucle jacket would be the perfect addition as it would look so sleek with jeans, wide legged trousers or even a mini skirt. The silhouette makes the design so flattering.”

“I had been on the hunt for some Mary Jane flats, but hadn’t taken the plunge until now. I love the multi straps and the pointed toe on these, and they look great on their own, or with some cute socks.”

“I tried these on in duty free back in March and they have lived rent free in my mind since then. I keep kicking myself for not buying them at the time! I love to logo on the sides, and while white sunglasses aren’t something that you see all the time, I can picture myself on a crisp but bright winters day wearing these and wrapped up in cosy layers.”

“If you haven’t heard of Reiss Atelier, then let me introduce you. It’s the Reiss you know but better (as if that’s even possible)—an Atelier collection of timeless wardrobe staples and occasion pieces you can buy now, and love forever. Take this coat for example, how perfect is it?”

“Is it too early to mention the C word? Because I’m already thinking about party season and what I’ll wear to the the endless dinner parties I’m about to attend. The shorter version of this 16Arlington dress had lived in my head rent-free for a very long time, and now the longer version has moved in and taken over.”

“We called this coat in for our latest We Try Before You Buy shoot and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Navy is just as classic and versatile as black, so I know this will go with everything in my wardrobe, and the relaxed but tailored silhouette ensures this will work over comfy weekend looks as well as for work and evening events. Yes, it’s an investment, but one I’m willing to make when I consider the cost per wear of the piece.”

“I recently went for a CACI facial at Lisa Franklin’s clinic and was so impressed. A non-invasive treatment, it promises to tone muscle, smooth fine lines and prevent sagging skin as well as leave you feeling rested and relaxed. To maintain my new glowy complexion, in the weeks after my initial treatment I used the brand’s new purifying silver mask, which helps to soothe skin and protect it from any breakouts, as well as nourish healthy skin. I got so many compliments the next morning that I am now a full-fledged convert and have just popped the rest of the range on my Christmas list!”

“Every year I try to invest in one piece of new knitwear, and this year I’ve got my eye on this LouLou Studio wool and cashmere blend style. In case you missed it, chocolate brown is a colour trend that is really having a moment this winter, and for me this is the perfect, rich hue (I try to avoid anything with an orange or rust tint). I’d wear it with blue denim and brown suede ankle boots, or with a slip skirt and knee-highs.”

“These stunning Otiumberg earrings will play their part nicely in layered looks this season. The pebble moonstone detail gives pearls a run for their money”

“Denim skirts are still ranking high on my wardrobe essentials list. This particular one from Massimo Dutti is so chic. The slightly pleated detail at the back really elevates it and I love the dark indigo wash, it’s perfect for the autumn/winter season.”

“I tend to prefer bigger bags to carry all my essentials (and the rest of my life), but I’ve recently developed an obsession for small but stylish bags that are perfect for a night out. The Coperni Swipe Bag in fiery patent red has my full attention and is simply irresistible.”

“I’ve been meaning to add a Moto style leather jacket to my outwear collection. The red and white accents are the pop of colour it needs to effortlessly elevate my casual everyday looks whilst also adding a cool factor to my outfits.”

“I’d be happy with any Loewe bag, but the Paseo has had me since its arrival on the runway last year. It has everything I want and need in an understated, everyday style. Now I just have to save up for it…”

“I hadn’t found a single pair of comfortable ballet flats until Everlane entered the chat. In that expensive-looking shade of cream, I’m going to wear these on repeat. Consider me a flat-shoe convert.”

“I’m always here for more gold jewellery, and this is a new designer that has caught my eye. A great mix of ‘80s glam and more modern, minimalistic touches, I’ve already worn these countless times since buying them at the start of the summer.”

Take one key summer trend (the tank top), add a classic twist (the midi dress), and voila: an easy, throw-on-and-go outfit that is guaranteed to get compliments. And, as an added bonus, it comes in black, too.”

“It’s not often that I try a beauty product and see such quick results that I immediately tell all of my friends and family, but after trying just about every facial in the book in an attempt to get the covetable ‘glass skin’ look, just one week of using Bioeffect’s Power Serum and Hydrating Cream, has made me finally ditch the foundation and let my naturally brighter skin do the talking. No exaggeration.”

“Stella McCartney’s cleanser has recently become a firm favourite in my skincare routine. Not only does it remove makeup easily, but it also feels so refreshing on the skin and has left me with a smoother, brighter complexion after just a few uses. It’s one of my new beauty heroes.”

“I’ve recently had my ears pierced (I know; I’m very late to the game), and am currently on the lookout for some investment hoops that I can wear and love forever. This pair from 886 is just stunning. They’re simple, chic and the type of jewellery I’d never want to take off.”

“I have a weakness for dresses with pockets, and everything about this Free People style screams perfection to me. It’s a piece I know I’ll love forever.”

“It’s reached the point where I can no longer deny my love for Skims—I’m officially a fangirl. I have the viral dress, the shapewear and the swimwear. Baby tees are all the rage this summer, so although I have this in white, I’m also adding the black to my wish list.”

“The denim maxi-skirt revival isn’t quite over for me just yet. I’m still very much into styles that flare out and give volume, and this Raey one delivers in spades. This will be a key wardrobe piece for me going into autumn.”

“I think I may have found a pair of Adidas trainers that could potentially compete with my Sambas. I love the casual and cool look of this style, and the neutral colour will go with a lot outfits I wear frequently.”

“I love this versatile, striped shirt on its own, but I love it even more as a co-ord with the matching trousers. So chic.”

“I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect navy, ‘boyish’ blazer for years, and I think I might have just stumbled across the holy grail in Reiss’ new-in section.”

“Between the silhouette and the colour, this skirt will help me begin to transition all of my summertime clothes into autumn. The first look I’m thinking of involves my cream, cropped Zara blazer and black, minimal sandals.”

“Massimo Dutti is fast becoming my go-to for expensive-looking accessories, with this shoulder bag heading straight to the top of my wish list. It comes in a handful of very chic, very versatile colours, my favourite being this wear-with-anything ecru.”
