VIDEO: FBI Agents Admit Monitoring Social Media While Questioning Oklahoma Woman Over Anti-Biden Posts

Last week, a video went viral of an Oklahoma woman being questioned by people who alleged to be FBI agents. The agents arrived at her front door, seemingly there to ask her about Facebook posts.

The video is a terrifying preview of the direction of the United States government. The FBI agent’s reaction to the woman’s justified questions was jaw-dropping.

The very pretense behind the visit has major Big Brother vibes. What would the Founding Fathers say about the apparent police state that has become the U.S.?

If they were on social media, they’d be targets of the federal government, too.

“This is America…”

Knock knock

Oklahoma resident Rolla Abdeljawad was visited last month by FBI agents. The agents said they were there to talk to her regarding some Facebook posts she had published.

Luckily, Ms. Abdeljawad videoed the exchange where the agent said:

“Facebook gave us a couple of screenshots of your account.”

Besides the refusal to provide proof of identity when she asked on camera, the agents continued, adding to the exchange’s inappropriateness. After she asks if the U.S. is no longer a free country, the FBI agents tell her it is, but:

“We do this every day, all day long. It’s just an effort to keep everybody safe and make sure nobody has any ill will.”

To which Ms. Abdeljawad rightly responds:

“All I’ve done is exercise my right as an American citizen on a public social media platform with my personal opinions.”

An act almost every American citizen does multiple times a day on numerous social media platforms of choice.

It can happen to you

In a stroke of irony, Ms. Abdeljawad predicted that this scenario could happen to many like her. In a previous social media post, Ms. Abdeljawad wrote about the federal government and Muslims like herself:

“Don’t fall for their games. Our community is being watched & they are just waiting for any reason to round us up.”

She continued with this bit of clairvoyance:

“If you’re Muslim and/or pro-Pal consider all your media accounts, Google searches, mail, messenger, local mosques & political events monitored. #NYC #USA #PoliceState #FreePalestine”

Ms. Abdeljawad’s social media posts are highly critical of Israel and the war in Gaza. However, there has been zero evidence that anything she has posted is outside the realm of what she has every right to express.

She is just unlucky enough to have an unpopular opinion. Perhaps more notable, her views run counter to the federal government’s foreign policy.

In a statement to media outlets on the engagement with Ms. Abdeljawad, the FBI said:

“Every day, the FBI engages with members of the public in furtherance of our mission, which is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States.”

For those Americans who think this sort of tactic is what prevents 9/11 from repeating or is justified due to the horrific actions taken by Hamas terrorists on October 7th, I’d ask you to broaden your aperture. It’s a dangerous downward spiral when a society starts sacrificing its God-given rights in the name of potential or imagined safety.

Right, the Twitter Files had no impact — certainly not on any state or federal anti-censorship legislation, shuttering of programs like the Election Integrity Partnership, or multiple First Amendment cases currently before the Supreme Court . https://t.co/HixKZsGQ5t

Spooks everywhere in everything

What happened to Rolla Abdeljawad can and has been happening to Americans nationwide. According to a recent GAO report:

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have mechanisms to share and receive domestic violent extremism threat-related information with social media and gaming companies.”

That’s right; the FBI is actively spying on your 14-year-old while they play Diablo and on your elderly mother as she peruses Facebook for photos of her grandchildren. All of this activity is done in the name of combating domestic terrorism.

Since 2019, the FBI and DHS have utilized the following five domestic terrorism threat categories to guide their efforts:

racial/ethnically motivated violent extremism

anti-government/anti-authority violent extremism

animal rights or environmental violent extremism

abortion-related violent extremism

all other domestic terror threats

How well have these guardrails worked at preventing unbiased domestic terrorism deterrence? The evidence points to an alarming trend for Americans whose opinions differ from those of the federal government.

Intimidation leads to subjugation

Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court presided over Murthy v. Missouri. This case concerns the numerous American citizens, from doctors and scientists to journalists and everyday Joes, who dared to post opinions on COVID-19 that differed from the D.C. narrative.

Thanks to the Twitter Files, we all discovered that the White House, CDC, FBI, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) actively encouraged and pressured social media platforms to censor these citizens. And let’s not forget the anti-abortion activist Mark Houck, who was arrested at gunpoint in front of his children via FBI SWAT team.

The DOJ is ordering Google to release the names and addresses of YouTube viewers who watched specific videos.

“It’s unconstitutional, terrifying, & happening every day. These YouTube warrants are chilling, allowing police to target people simply for the content they consume.” pic.twitter.com/pMHUhotiW9

Mr. Houck was eventually acquitted and is now suing the Department of Justice for $3.25 million.

Whether you agree with Ms. Abdeljawad’s views doesn’t matter.

What matters is that if the DOJ can show up unannounced at your home to ask questions about your free speech on social media…what else can they do?

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
