At first, she said that she feared breaking up with the comedian because “previously, self-harm and suicide threats had come about from trivial circumstances”.But, Pete then dumped her over text, quickly moving on with Ariana just weeks after their split. Cazzie “shook uncontrollably” and “screamed in agony” before her famous 73-year-old father, comedian Larry David, couldn’t take it anymore. He reminded her: “Come on, your ancestors survived the holocaust!”Cazzie said she couldn’t stop imagining Pete and the Grammy winner, “baby voice whispering sweet nothings in his ear dubbed over his past declarations of love and trust to me”.Cazzie eventually thanked Pete in her book’s acknowledgments, writing, “Pete. I love you … Your bravery inspires me and your friendship means the world to me.”Pete and Ariana ended up breaking up in October of the same year. Ariana is now engaged to real estate mogul Dalton Gomez.
