NSW pair who allegedly fled Melbourne Airport fined $19k

Health Minister Martin Foley confirmed the 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman had returned to the Goulburn region in NSW after the incident.A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the pair would face punishment for their actions. “A man and woman that absconded from Melbourne Airport have been located in NSW this morning,” she said. “Victoria Police and DHHS will jointly investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident and enforcement actions will be taken.”The pair were last night on the run in Victoria after allegedly escaping authorised officers at Melbourne Airport on Friday.Police were searching for the pair who flew in from Canberra just before 11am on Friday.Police believe they may have been in the Sunbury area on Friday evening.

“They were spoken to by authorised officers and informed they would be required to quarantine for 14 days as per current CHO directions,” Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said.“The pair then ran from the officer, fleeing the airport and were picked up by a vehicle outside.”Police released images of the pair in the hope someone recognises them and contacts police.Anyone with information are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
