Popular Ikea store on virus alert

The state also recorded one new case in an overseas arrival in hotel quarantine.The Department of Health and Human Services added Ikea Springvale – on the Princes Highway – to its hot-spot list after a confirmed case of COVID-19 shopped there between 4-6.30pm on December 30.Anyone else who visited the shop at that time must get tested immediately for COVID-19 and quarantine until they receive a result.An infected diner – believed to be the same person – then ate at the Ikea cafe and restaurant, with the exposure time between 5.30-6.30pm on December 30.The Sikh Temple in Keysborough was added as an exposure site on Tuesday, with anyone who attended the site between 3-5pm on January 1 asked to get tested immediately and quarantine until a result is received.Health alerts were also issued for Melbourne restaurants such as Nandos and Mexican eatery Fonda, while popular bars such as the Melbourne Central Lion Hotel and European Bier Cafe have also been put on alert.Tao Dumplings in Camberwell and Merrymen Cafe in Hampton have also been hit by the virus, while Stomping Ground Brewery in Collingwood hosted an infected diner.Anyone who visited an Ishka store on Beach Street in Frankston between 3-3.15pm on December 31 have been asked to monitor for symptoms.

It comes after a Boost Juice employee who worked at Melbourne’s Chadstone shopping centre tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. The centre management said both kiosks were shut as a precaution and deep cleaned. Health authorities have also flagged the risk of transmission at Grape and Grain Liquor Cellars, Moorabbin, as being far greater than initially thought. The shop is now subject to a two-week quarantine order.

must get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days regardless of symptoms.
