JUNGLE GIANTS SWING INQueensland band Jungle Giants just made the voting cut off with In Her Eyes, now their seventh Hottest 100 placing – their Sending Me UR Loving should feature higher later. Three Leaf Clover by Teenage Joans was tipped to be Top 40 by Warm Tunas – oops. Canadian rapper Drake lobbed his lucky seventh Hottest 100 song with Laugh Now Cry Later. Brisbane band Dune Rats displayed why the Hottest 100 has language warnings with Too Tough Terry and only Sunshine Coast punks The Chats could open a song called The Clap with the lyric “last week pulled a root in the back of me ute”. The Chats reached No. 21 last year with Pub Feed. Perth band Spacey Jane also debuted in the Hottest 100 last year (reaching No. 80 with Good For You) and almost match that with Weightless. However their track Booster Seat is one of the contenders to reach No. 1

Victorian premier Daniel Andrews could make his Hottest 100 debut this year – Brisbane dance duo Mashd N Kutcher sampled quotes from his pandemic press conferences for the viral hit Get on The Beers. 100 Warm Tunas currently has it scoring a Top 15 placing.The Hottest 100 starts at midday on triple j and will end around 8pm.
