Protesters set fires and confronted police in Dutch towns and cities on Monday, defying the country’s coronavirus curfew. The curfew between 9 pm and 4:30 am was brought in to combat sharply rising coronavirus infections, hospitalisations and deaths, but many have actively defied it across the Netherlands after posts on social media to protest.
