“The Little Things” is now available to watch on HBO Max. The film is the second in a series of Warner Bros. movies that are scheduled to start streaming on the same day they premiere in theaters.
The film follows Deke, a deputy sheriff played by Denzel Washington, who winds up searching for a serial killer in Los Angeles. Deke meets Baxter (Rami Malek), a sergeant from the LA Sheriff’s Department, who tags along on the investigation. But as the search continues, it reveals secrets of Deke’s past. The thriller is directed by John Lee Hancock and also features actor Jared Leto.
The movie follows the release of “Wonder Woman 1984” as the second Warner Bros. title to be released in theaters and through HBO Max at the same time. “Wonder Woman 1984” brought in 4.3 times the average amount of HBO Max signups in December 2020, according to research startup Antenna.
Although “Wonder Woman 1984” was the highest-grossing opening weekend release in domestic theaters since the start of the pandemic – earning $16.7 million – its box office still hasn’t captured the amount it cost to make the $200 million movie. The expectations for “The Little Things” are similar as more people flock to streaming services and fewer people attend cinemas, either due to closures or hesitancy to go back to theater seats.
