The classic rockers will perform at 11 Under The Southern Stars shows nationally, including Mornington Peninsula on May 8, Yarrawonga, on May 9, and Port Melbourne on May 12.Promoter Andrew McManus said: “The objective has always been for us to try and be the first international artists to tour not only in Australia but also for the world. What we are trying to do is to open the international borders to music. It’s an enormous achievement.”The bands will fly to Sydney in April for 14 days of hotel quarantine, then a week of rehearsals. “They can’t mingle, they can’t do anything through quarantine. Once that is complete, we’ll go into a venue, put whole production in, and rehearse so they are stage ready,” McManus said. For quarantine matters, McManus has consulted travel and security experts who oversaw lockdowns for actors and crew shooting the latest Thor movie in Sydney. The tour party, approved by the Australian Border Force Commissioner, has been to kept to a minimum, and includes 12 musicians from the three bands, productions managers and essential crew.
McManus, who has toured Fleetwood Mac, Kiss and Lenny Kravitz, hopes the Under The Southern Stars shows will serve as a template for future international concerts for other promoters to use.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, with presale tickets available from 12pm on Wednesday.
