Famous Aussie paintings to make a real impression

The exhibition, She-Oak and Sunlight: Australian Impressionism, features works by Tom Roberts, Frederick McCubbin, Jane Sutherland, and Arthur Streeton.NGV director Tony Ellwood said the exhibition would present “the most iconic paintings of Impressionist works from Australia’s history”.“Paintings that people will recognise from the placemats, coasters and prints in their family homes growing up,” he says.“NGV has never staged an Australian Impressionism exhibition as ambitious and definitive in its history and is proud to be presenting the most significant works from the movement along with exciting new acquisitions including Tom Roberts’ She-oak and Sunlight, Ina Gregory’s Charterisville and Iso Rae’s Young Girl, Étaples.”The exhibition run from April 2 to August 22 at NGV Australia, Federation Square.
