According to her limited bio on the far-left Wikipedia, Ilhan Omar divorced her second husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2011.
Ilhan’s second husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, is her brother.
The two were legally married on February 12, 2009, and divorced in 2011.
Democrat Ilhan Omar married her biological brother.
Power Line reported on this scandal years ago:
A reader has written us to point out that the Somali website Somalispot posted information last week suggesting Omar’s involvement in marriage and immigration fraud. The post notes that Omar married Ahmed Hirsi in 2002. Hirsi is the father of Omar’s three children. Omar is depicted with Hirsi and their children on Omar’s campaign website here.
The post further notes that Omar married her brother Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009, implying that the latter marriage assisted his entry into the United States. Her brother was a British citizen. “As soon as Ilhan Omar married him,” the post continues, “He started university at her [a]lma mater North Dakota State University where he graduated in 2012. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Minneapolis where he was living in a public housing complex and was later evicted. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he now lives.”
Ilhan Omar was elected to be a state representative for District 60B on November 8, 2016, and took her oath on the Quran.
In 2017, several months after Omar’s marriage history briefly created a national news item, Omar quietly petitioned the family court for a default divorce, claiming she could not locate Elmi.
She was suspected of using campaign donations to pay for the divorce… from her brother.
Ilhan is currently married to her political consultant.
There is a vast amount of evidence that Ilhan Omar married her brother to commit immigration fraud.
More from the Daily Mail:
For the first time, one of those friends has come forward to reveal exactly how Omar and Ahmed Elmi scandalized the Somali community in Minneapolis.
Abdihakim Osman is the first person to go on record to speak of how Omar said she wanted to get her brother papers so he could stay in the United States, at a time when she was married to her first husband Ahmed Hirsi.
But hardly anyone realized that meant marrying him.
‘No one knew there had been a wedding until the media turned up the marriage certificate years later,’ Osman, 40, exclusively told DailyMail.com.

It has long been rumored that Omar and Elmi are brother and sister.
But because of a lack of paperwork in war-torn Somalia where they were both born, positive proof of their relationship has never been uncovered.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that Representative Ilhan Omar married her brother to facilitate immigration fraud.
In July 2019, Trump stated, “There’s a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother. I know nothing about it,” referencing the rumor without providing evidence.
He reiterated this accusation during a rally in Ocala, Florida, in October 2020, asserting that Omar “married her brother, came in illegally,” and called for the Department of Justice to investigate her.
“If you look at the House with Pelosi and these people, it’s like they hate Israel and they believe in Omar, who came in here and married her brother or something, came in illegally,” he said. “Come on Justice, let’s go Justice, Department of Justice.”
Omar has consistently denied the accusation, calling it “absurd and offensive.” In response to a 2025 social media post claiming to confirm the rumor, she replied, “The only thing that is confirmed is your stupidity. Hope that helps.”
So, when will ICE arrest Omar and send her home to Somalia?
No one is above the law—not even Ilhan Omar.
