Bowen Yang explains how that amazing 'Titanic iceberg' sketch on 'SNL' came together

When Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang paid a visit to The Tonight Show on Friday, host Jimmy Fallon had questions about the Titanic iceberg sketch. Yang had recently appeared on SNL‘s Weekend Update in costume as the “iceberg,” who (yes, the iceberg is a “who” here) was there to tout his new album. But of course, the conversation turned quickly to that fateful night in 1912.

It’s a segment that quickly went viral, and in Yang’s Tonight appearance he talked about how it all came together — the idea originally sprung from SNL writer Anna Drezen — and how no one was really sure about it going in. The rest, of course, is internet viral history. Read more…
